Melissa Eveland
Clinical Intern Melissa is a clinical intern currently completing her Master of Arts in Counselling Psychology at Yorkville University. She brings a warm, genuine, and down-to-earth approach to counselling and believes that people are more likely to create meaningful change when they feel truly heard and understood.
Therapeutic Approach Melissa is particularly interested in supporting adults, and young adults experiencing anxiety, relationship challenges, people-pleasing, self-esteem concerns, addiction and recovery, major life transitions, and periods of feeling stuck or uncertain about what comes next.
Her approach is collaborative and person-centred, drawing from CBT, ACT, and solution-focused approaches while recognizing that therapy is not one-size-fits-all. Melissa believes that many of the patterns that eventually hold us back began as ways of coping, connecting, or protecting ourselves. Therapy can provide a space to understand those patterns, discover what still serves us, and start making choices that better reflect the life we want to live.
Melissa welcomes adults at any age or stage of life and believes it is never too late to understand yourself differently, make meaningful changes, or begin again.
